Michael kicked off the season with a P2 in Melbourne with his rival Falcon winning in a close fight between them and Cliffy. 2 wins in China and Russia and Falcon's consistency not great in the first part of the season, saw Michael extending his lead in the standings to 28 points. A win in Spain only helped him reach his championship lead to 35, before going down to 25 after Falcon won in the streets of Monaco with Michael down in P3. Falcon won again in Montreal as Michael couldn't attend the 7th race of the season. That means that heading into Azerbaijan the 2 drivers were equal on points. Michael got the victory in Baku and with a 17 point lead coming to Austria he was feeling very confident. Michael's consistency was hampered in Spielberg where he had a nightmare, spinning out 3 times and he saw the chequered flag 5th and with Falcon winning, his championship lead was just 2 points ahead of Falcon's home race in Britain. Michael won as Falcon hit trouble in the British circuit, finishing P2. 9 points separated them as they headed to Budapest and the battle was hotting up even more. An intense race in Hungaroring saw Falcon taking the victory as he closed up on Michael. The gap was just 2 points coming to the last race of 2017 in the legendary Spa. A fabulous race in Belgium saw Michael extending a 9-point lead after an astonishing pass around the outside in Les Combe on the last lap. The cat and mouse chase rolled on to Italy after the winter break. Teams and drivers were back in the action in Monza for Round 13/20. The Italian GP was shaping up to be a classic but lag issues cost Michael the chance to battle it out with Falcon for the win. Falcon won a troubleless race in Italy but it was a whole different story in the rainy Singapore - Michemery won Round 14 becoming the 3rd different winner in only his 2nd race in ERL. Michael got P2 with Falcon finishing only in P6 to claim 8 points. That meant that heading to Malaysia, Michael had a comfortable 12-point lead. That gap extended drastically as Michael took pole and led from start to finish to take his 7th win of the season. Falcon on the other side had a nightmare and only finished in 10th place dropping another 24 points which meant that with 5 races to go, Michael could finish P2 in every Round and still win the Championship. Next up was Japan where things somehow got even better for the Season 1 Champion. He took pole by 0.006 seconds, won the race and saw his rival retiring after the first stint. That meant that Michael could mathematically seal his 2nd ERL Championship in U.S.A as he had a 61 point gap with 4 races to go. Michael got 3rd in America which was all he needed to win the title as his season-long rival couldn't attend the race. Into Mexico, Michael having celebrated his 3rd World Driver's Championship, he clinched the Constructor's title as well with a P2 which was enough to overhaul the gap to Force India. Brazil proved to be Michael's 3rd race off the podium after a disasterous puncture in the penultimate lap which costed him a potential 4th place. It didn't matter all too much though as he had well untrully achieved all goals for the season.

Falcon started the season with a bang in Australia, winning the opening race of Season 3. His consistency let him down in the first part of the season with a 6th place in China and a DNF in Russia which left him 35 points behind his rival, Michael. A win in Monaco and Canada saw Falcon equal on points with Michael who couldn't attend the race in Montreal. Falcon and Michael were equal on points after coming to Baku where Falcon had a sloppy race finishing 3rd but demoted to 6th after he was awarded a 10 second time penalty. Falcon came back stronger than ever in Austria where he won the race, 40 seconds ahead of his title rival which saw him just 2 points shy of Michael heading to Silverstone. Falcon didn't have the best of races in Britain, finishing P2 behind his rival, Michael. Falcon lost a further 7 points which meant that heading to Hungary he had to cover a 9 point deficit. He managed to get 7 points as he crossed the line first, 6 tenths ahead of his rival. 2 points between them heading to Belgium. Falcon had the win in his hands until the last lap when it tragically slipped away from him. He was now 9 points behind his tough rival heading to Ferrari's home race in Monza. Falcon took pole and won the race having to manage only the damaged Ferrari of Michael. The gap was down to 2 points again coming to Singapore. Falcon didn't stay in touch with Michael in Singapore losing 10 points finishing in 6th with Michael in 2nd. Heading to Malaysia not only does Falcon need to catch up on Michael's lead but he also has to worry about other rivals. Malaysia was a race to forget for ERL_Falcon and definitely a Championship turn-around with his rival winning the race and him only scoring 1 point in P10. With 5 races to go Falcon will have a hard time trying to catch his title rival, Michael. Falcon lost a further 25 points to Michael in Suzuka seeing his Force India in the wall after 130R. Falcon could lose the championship even mathematically with 3 races to go. And the inevitable happened in USA with Falcon not attending the American GP, something that left his rival troubleless securing the World Driver's Title with 3 GP's to go. In Mexico, things got even worse for Falcon as not only he and his team lost the WCC but he also DNF'ed with just 2 laps to go adding more dissapointment to his already heart-braking 2nd half of the season. The retirements and drama didn't stop there unfortunately for the young Brit as he got a puncture in the penultimate lap of the Brazilian GP resulting in another DNF. His 4th of the season in contrast to Michael's 0.
